Installation of the exhibits

The moment when all the exhibits of all featured artists and productions come together in the exhibition space is exciting! Here are some impressions of the installation process at the Yoshiro and Yoshio Taniguchi Museum of Architecture, Kanazawa, Japan.

The show will open on Friday, 16 June 2023.

Neo Tokyo in cross hairs

Artwork for Ghost in the Shell all lined up waiting for their turns. This perspective gives a good idea of the works’ different formats and sizes.

The laser cross hair on the original art of Patlabor 2 seemed a bit symbolic to me as the city of Tokyo is imagined being actually under attack in the feature.

Last cuts side by side: the final cut of Ghost in the Shell on the left side and the final background of AKIRA on the right side. For long it’s been a dream of mine to present the background art of these great features within one space. The day will come soon!

The original artwork for Ghost in the Shell’s cut no. 228.

The first cut is the last one. Just like during the production of AKIRA the first cut of the feature is worked on last.

Almost there. The cases in the middle need yet to be installed and then all labels and decals need to go onto the walls.
