Exhibition views of “Cityscapes in Anime Background Art”
Installation views of the exhibition “Cityscapes in Anime Background Art” at the Yoshiro and Yoshio Taniguchi Museum of Architecture, 17 June - 19 November 2023.
Installation of the exhibits
The moment that all the exhibits come together in the exhibition space is exciting! Here are impressions of the installation process at the Yoshiro and Yoshio Taniguchi Museum of Architecture.
Outtakes #1
At the Yoshiro and Yoshio Taniguchi Museum of Architecture we cannot present all the precious background artwork we would like to show. Instead of overcrowding the showcase I’ll present some of the “outtakes” here.
Preparing the exhibits
Preparations for our next exhibition are in full swing. The teams of the Yoshiro and Yoshio Taniguchi Museum of Architecture and Eizo Workshop are busy preparing the background artwork of Patlabor 1 & 2 by Hiromasa Ogura and Shuichi Kusamori.
Reproducing the original artwork
Trust in the quality of our printing partner’s work is the foundation for our products. Here is a peek behind the scenes into the printer’s workshop.
Cityscapes in Anime Background Art
16 June - 11 November 2023 at the Yoshiro and Yoshio Taniguchi Museum of Architecture, Kanazawa, Japan. Directed by Taro Igarashi, curated by Stefan Riekeles, Hiroko Myokam and the museum. In Cooperation with Kanazawa College of Art, Riekeles Gallery and Eizo Workshop G.K.
Ghost in the Shell, cut no. 477
This is one of my favorite pieces of all the backgrounds I had the pleasure to work with so far. I love the color and the idea that the cityscape is somehow excavated from blurbs of blue.
